Approximately 10% of female and 9% of male high school students report being physically hurt on purpose by their boy/girlfriends. These students are more likely to abuse drugs, engage in risky sexual behavior, and consider or attempt suicide. It is essential to increase knowledge and change attitudes about dating violence.
